Jeremy Clarkson’s Weight-Loss Journey Takes an Awkward Turn: The Mounjaro Side Effect He Didn’t See Coming

Jeremy Clarkson, the outspoken star of Clarkson’s Farm, Top Gear, and The Grand Tour, has never shied away from turning his personal misfortunes into public entertainment. But his latest revelation about his weight loss journey had fans laughing — and sympathizing — in equal measure.

The 65-year-old television icon, who lives on his 1,000-acre Diddly Squat Farm in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, recently shared that he’s experiencing an unexpected problem following his dramatic transformation thanks to the diabetes drug-turned-weight-loss jab Mounjaro.

From Health Scare to Healthier Living

Just last year, Clarkson revealed that he underwent emergency heart surgery at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital after suffering from chest pains that alarmed both his doctors and his family. The scare prompted the veteran broadcaster to completely rethink his lifestyle.

Gone were the heavy pub lunches and lavish dinners that had long been a part of his routine. In their place came a renewed focus on fitness, portion control, and a medically guided use of Mounjaro — a weight-loss injection that has become increasingly popular among celebrities and the public alike.

Earlier this year, Clarkson proudly told fans he had lost two stone (roughly 28 pounds) since adopting the treatment and a healthier diet. The transformation was evident — slimmer, more energetic, and looking noticeably fitter on recent episodes of Clarkson’s Farm and in public appearances.

But as it turns out, losing the weight also meant losing something else — his ability to keep his trousers up at the airport.

An Unexpected Airport Mishap

Taking to Twitter/X during a recent trip, Clarkson confessed to an awkward moment caused by his newly trimmed waistline.

“Mounjaro problem. I never saw coming,” he wrote.
“At airports you’re made to remove your belt and then told to stand in the body scanner with your arms in the air. So you can’t hold your trousers up.”

Fans were quick to respond with jokes and sympathy, many saying the relatable mishap made them like him even more. “Finally, a side effect we can all laugh at,” one user commented. Another added, “Proof that even the mighty Clarkson isn’t safe from wardrobe malfunctions.”

Falling Trousers and Falling Barriers

This isn’t the first time Clarkson has found himself battling gravity thanks to Mounjaro. During the National Television Awards, where Clarkson’s Farm took home the trophy for Best Factual Entertainment Show, the former Top Gear host nearly lost his trousers live on stage.

Ever the showman, Clarkson turned the moment into comedy gold.

“I should explain — I’m on Mounjaro,” he told the laughing audience, “and my trousers are falling down.”

Standing beside him, his partner Lisa Hogan stepped in to help, quite literally holding him up by the waistband while he accepted the award.

“Lisa’s going to hold my trousers up whilst I make a very short speech,” he added with a grin.

The audience roared with laughter — and once again, Clarkson managed to turn embarrassment into entertainment.

Life on the Farm and Beyond

Since his health scare, Clarkson has been splitting his time between writing, filming Clarkson’s Farm, and running his expanding agricultural ventures in the Cotswolds. His Diddly Squat Farm has become a cultural phenomenon, drawing thousands of visitors each year eager to experience the celebrity farmer’s world — from his farm shop’s Hawkstone Lager to the newly opened Farmer’s Dog pub in nearby Asthall.

Those who have met him in person say he looks healthier and more relaxed than ever — even if his trademark trousers occasionally disagree.

The New Clarkson: Still the Same Rebel

Despite his well-documented battles with bureaucracy, health, and now fashion, Jeremy Clarkson remains one of Britain’s most enduring and unpredictable personalities. His weight loss has become yet another chapter in his long and colorful story — a mix of determination, humor, and a touch of chaos.

He may have lost a few inches around the waist, but Clarkson’s larger-than-life personality is clearly going nowhere.

As one fan perfectly summed it up beneath his viral post:

“You can take the man out of Top Gear, put him on a farm, slim him down, and give him a jab — but he’ll still find a way to turn it into the funniest story of the week.”
