Kaleb Cooper Admits He’s “Avoiding” Jeremy Clarkson as Life Shifts at Diddly Squat Farm

Kaleb Cooper has said he currently “tries to avoid” Jeremy Clarkson while working at Diddly Squat Farm, joking about his relationship with the television presenter following his return from filming in Australia.

The 27-year-old farmer, from Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire, rose to prominence after appearing in the first series of Amazon Prime Video’s Clarkson’s Farm, which was released in 2021. His straightforward approach to farming and frequent exchanges with Mr Clarkson quickly made him one of the programme’s most recognisable figures.

Since then, Mr Cooper has featured in every subsequent series of the show, including the fourth instalment, which was released earlier this year across May and June. The programme continues to follow the challenges of running Diddly Squat Farm in the Cotswolds, with Mr Cooper playing a central role in day-to-day operations.

Speaking to BBC Radio Oxford after returning from Australia, where he had been filming for an upcoming Prime Video project, Mr Cooper provided a brief update on life back at the farm — and on his well-known boss.

During a conversation with presenter Adam Dowling, Mr Cooper was asked how Mr Clarkson was getting on. He replied: “Yeah, he’s really good, I think,” before adding with a laugh: “I try and avoid him on the farm these days.”

The comment prompted laughter from both men, with Mr Cooper quickly clarifying that the remark was made in jest. “No, he’s really good,” he said. “I think everything’s going really well.”

He went on to explain that recent weeks had brought a noticeable change in weather conditions at the Oxfordshire farm. “We’ve had a fair bit of rain in the last couple of weeks,” he said, adding that he had only just returned to the UK after spending time overseas.

Mr Cooper confirmed that he had been in Australia filming a new series, which he expects to be released on Prime Video next year. “I literally got back last week,” he told listeners, suggesting that his time away had kept him temporarily removed from events at Diddly Squat.

Away from television, Mr Cooper balances his farming career with family life. He has three children with his partner, Taya, and the couple welcomed their son, Ashton, in September.

While Clarkson’s Farm has become one of Prime Video’s most successful factual series in the UK, Mr Cooper has also pursued his own projects, including farming initiatives and television work separate from the show. His latest comments suggest that, despite the humour, his working relationship with Mr Clarkson remains firmly intact as the farm continues into its next chapter.
