Kaleb Cooper Heads to Australia for First Solo Prime Video Series — ‘Kaleb: Down Under’

For years, Kaleb Cooper has been the quick-witted, no-nonsense heart of Clarkson’s Farm — the young contractor who keeps Jeremy Clarkson in line while running circles around him on Diddly Squat. But now, the 26-year-old fan favourite is striking out on his own — and his next field is a long way from Chipping Norton.

Prime Video has officially announced Kaleb: Down Under (working title), a four-part docuseries that will follow Cooper as he travels to Australia for the first time in his life. It’s a journey that promises laughter, grit, and plenty of hard graft, as the Oxfordshire farmer trades the green pastures of the Cotswolds for the wild, sun-scorched expanses of the Australian outback.

A Farmer Goes Global

For someone who has built his reputation on being proudly homegrown, the trip marks a huge leap — both personally and professionally.

“I spend most of my time with the most travelled man in the world, so I got brave and booked my first ever flight to see what all the fuss was about,” Cooper said, referencing Clarkson. “Australia, here I come! You’ll be gaining a new farmer for a couple of months as I discover if I can make my business go international.”

In Kaleb: Down Under, Cooper will swap his familiar patch of Oxfordshire farmland for thousands of acres of Australian bush, immersing himself in the country’s unique agricultural traditions. The series will document his encounters with local farmers and his firsthand experience of the harsh realities of farming in extreme heat, tackling droughts, wildfires, and livestock challenges unlike anything he’s faced back home.

The trip isn’t a holiday — it’s a test. Cooper will have to adapt quickly, learning how Australian farmers operate on some of the world’s largest agricultural estates. Along the way, he’ll confront his own fears, including his long-standing aversion to leaving home.

From Chipping Norton to the Outback

Since Clarkson’s Farm premiered in 2021, Cooper has become one of the UK’s most unlikely TV stars. His mix of gruff honesty, sharp humour, and youthful determination quickly turned him into a national treasure — the farmhand who says what everyone’s thinking.

Viewers fell in love with his dynamic with Clarkson — part mentorship, part comedy duo. While the former Top Gear host bumbles his way through farming bureaucracy, Cooper often plays the straight man, exasperated but loyal, delivering memorable lines that have become part of the show’s charm.

Now, stepping into his own spotlight, Cooper’s challenge will be proving that he can thrive without the Diddly Squat crew behind him.

“This new series shows Kaleb taking the next big step,” said Tara Erer, Head of Northern Europe Originals at Amazon MGM Studios. “He’s won our hearts with his no-nonsense farming wisdom and unmistakable charm. Watching him swap Chipping Norton for the vast Australian outback promises brilliant entertainment — and maybe a few surprises — as he experiences farming on a whole new scale.”

A New Chapter for a Rising Star

Production on Kaleb: Down Under begins this autumn, and while details remain under wraps, insiders suggest the show will balance Cooper’s trademark humour with moments of introspection. Viewers can expect him to get his hands dirty — and not just metaphorically.

“There will be blisters, burns, and backaches,” one production source said. “Kaleb wants to experience what it really takes to farm in Australia, and he’s not shying away from the tough parts.”

The series will also explore how Cooper’s time in Australia could influence his own business ambitions. With his contracting company steadily growing in the UK, Cooper hopes to pick up lessons from Australian farmers who manage massive herds, unpredictable weather, and global exports.

It’s a world away from the winding lanes and modest holdings of rural England — and that’s exactly what makes it compelling.

Roots That Still Run Deep

Despite his rising fame, Cooper has never strayed far from his roots. He still lives near his family in Chipping Norton and frequently returns to help Clarkson with the ongoing chaos at Diddly Squat Farm.

Fans can rest assured that this new Australian adventure doesn’t spell the end of his role in Clarkson’s Farm. Cooper will return for Season 5, which recently finished filming and is expected to hit Prime Video in 2026.

Until then, Kaleb: Down Under promises to be a love letter to farming — both British and Australian — and a chance for viewers to see one of TV’s most relatable personalities stepping out of his comfort zone and into the unknown.

What started as a sidekick story on a British farm has now become a global adventure — one that could transform Kaleb Cooper from rural contractor to international farming ambassador.

Catch Up Before the Trip

Fans eager to follow Cooper’s journey can revisit Clarkson’s Farm Seasons 1–4, now streaming on Prime Video.

And soon, they’ll see if the young farmer who once declared “I hate change” can handle the biggest change of all — trading English drizzle for the blazing Australian sun.
