Kaleb Cooper Takes Another Savage Shot at Jeremy Clarkson in New Hawkstone Ad
Clarkson’s Farm star Kaleb Cooper has made a brutal swipe at Jeremy Clarkson in a second advert for Hawkstone lager.
In the short clip, Jeremy, 65, strides out of his pub The Farmer’s Dog holding a pint of Hawkstone’s lager and starts waxing lyrical about the beer.
He then joins the Farmer’s Choir, who are assembled outside the pub, and starts singing with them in a similar format to the first advert that has been praised and defended by farmers.
They give a lively rendition of: “Hawkstone Lager, it’s the dog’s nuts” to the tune of Handel’s Messiah.
However, half-way through belting out the song, Kaleb, 27, turns around and asks Jeremy: “Why are you singing? You’re not a farmer.”
His cutting remark silences Jeremy as Kaleb keeps singing with the rest of the choir and The Grand Tour host downs his pint.
The moment makes for hilarious viewing with Jeremy and Kaleb known to be good friends, if occasionally clashing.
Fans took to the comments section to discuss the new advert as one leapt to the broadcaster’s defence and wrote: “You are too a farmer! Not necessarily a good one, but a farmer nonetheless.”
A second fan wrote: “Made me chuckle and absolutely fabulous and brilliant fun.”
A third person commented: “Because you’re single handedly showing the nation that the government doesn’t give a flying F about farmers. You’ve shown that and the nation stands behind you [sic].”
The advert ends with Jeremy looking down the lens of the camera and proclaims: “I did a jingle!”
Jeremy posted the second commercial on Instagram to his followers and captioned the video: “Our second ad, and we aren’t allowed to show this one on TV either ..a case of 24 Hawkstone for a lucky winner who guesses why… #backbritishfarmingdrinkhawkstone.”
The new advert comes several days after Jeremy unveiled the first expletive-filled one, which the former Top Gear host claimed had been banned.
However, RadioCentre, the regulator that handles pre-air radio adverts in the UK confirmed they hadn’t received the commercial for review, meaning it wasn’t banned.
Moreover, the LadBible investigation saw the publication contact regulators Clearcast, which deals with pre-air TV adverts, and the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), which both confirmed they hadn’t banned the advert.
The ASA said they only deal with complaints once the advert has been published.
Given the use of swearing in the first advert, which saw the choir singing “f***ing good” about the lager, it’s highly likely to have been banned if it had been submitted to the regulators.
Along with promoting his Hawkstone beer, Jeremy and the Diddly Squat Farm team are now busy filming season five of the global hit series Clarkson’s Farm.
The star revealed how he will be looking at inheritance tax affecting farmers as well as trying to build upon his success at Diddy Squat and his new pub The Farmer’s Dog.
