Kaleb Cooper’s health scare raises concerns as painful infection could lead to surgery

Kaleb Cooper has starred in the Amazon Prime show since its debut in 2021

Kaleb Cooper, the popular farming star from Clarkson’s Farm, has shared a worrying health update after revealing he is suffering from shingles, describing the experience as the most intense pain he has ever felt.

The 27-year-old television personality took to social media to speak openly with fans about the condition, explaining that he has been dealing with constant discomfort while continuing his daily work on the farm.

In a video filmed from his tractor, Cooper told his three million followers that the viral infection had left him struggling with severe nerve pain and unusual sensations throughout his body.

“I’ve never been in so much pain in my life,” he said. “I don’t know how I’m saying this, but I’m 27 years old and I’ve got shingles. It is so painful.”

Shingles is caused by the reactivation of the chickenpox virus, which can remain dormant in the body for years before becoming active again. While the condition is more common among older adults or people with weakened immune systems, it can affect younger individuals as well.

Cooper admitted he was surprised by the diagnosis, joking that he had previously believed shingles was a condition only older people experienced.

“I thought only old people get that,” he added, before quickly clarifying that he meant no offence to anyone who has dealt with the illness. “Honestly, it feels like pins and needles constantly running through your body.”

The Clarkson’s Farm favourite appeared visibly uncomfortable in the clip as he described the symptoms. The nerve pain caused by shingles often begins before a rash develops and can produce burning, tingling or stabbing sensations along affected nerves.

Cooper then turned to his audience for advice, asking whether there was any way to ease the condition quickly.

“How do I get rid of it?” he asked viewers. “Is there something I can take, like a tablet, that will make it go away faster?”

Medical guidance suggests that antiviral medications can help reduce the severity of shingles if treatment begins early. However, recovery often takes time. According to the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), the rash and symptoms can last several weeks, with some patients taking up to four weeks to fully recover.

Despite the discomfort, Cooper appears determined to continue working on the farm while managing the illness. His video showed him sitting inside his tractor, a reminder that daily farm responsibilities often continue regardless of personal health challenges.

Cooper first gained national recognition when he appeared alongside Jeremy Clarkson in the Amazon Prime series Clarkson’s Farm. Originally introduced as the practical young farmer helping Clarkson learn the basics of agriculture at Diddly Squat Farm, he quickly became one of the programme’s most popular personalities.

His straightforward humour, deep knowledge of farming and frequent on-screen disagreements with Clarkson made him a standout figure in the series.

Since the show’s debut in 2021, Cooper’s popularity has grown well beyond the farm. He has written books, appeared at live events and even launched a nationwide stage tour titled The World According to Kaleb, where he shares stories about farming life and his unexpected rise to television fame.

The tour and his publishing success have helped establish Cooper as one of the most recognisable figures associated with the series.

Fans have responded quickly to his recent health update, flooding social media with messages of support and suggestions for dealing with shingles symptoms. Many followers who have experienced the condition themselves offered advice on managing the nerve pain and coping with the recovery period.

For now, Cooper seems focused on getting through the illness while maintaining his usual farming routine. His candid update highlights the reality that even as his public profile grows, daily life on the farm continues to present its own set of challenges.

As viewers prepare for future seasons of Clarkson’s Farm, Cooper’s honest connection with fans remains one of the reasons audiences continue to follow his story both on and off the screen.
