Jeremy Clarkson is set to make a grand return to television with a brand new show, launching next week on ITV. The popular presenter, best known for his iconic role in Top Gear and The Grand Tour alongside fellow hosts James May and Richard Hammond, has become a household name over the years. His farming venture in Oxfordshire, Curdle Hill Farm, which he purchased in 2008, has gained further attention with his hit Prime Video show, Clarkson’s Farm.
Now, in January, Clarkson is taking on a fresh challenge as he hosts Millionaire Hot Seat, a spin-off of the highly successful Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, which he also presents. The new series will kick off on ITV at 7.30pm on Tuesday, January 6, and will feature 18 episodes, each with a runtime of 30 minutes. The show will offer viewers a chance to see Clarkson in a completely new format, as contestants compete for cash prizes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Katie Rawcliffe, ITV’s Head of Entertainment, shared her excitement about the show’s launch, noting that Who Wants to Be a Millionaire has been a massive success on the network, with over 18 million viewers tuning in this year alone. She emphasized that launching a spin-off was an easy decision, given the ongoing popularity of the franchise. “Millionaire Hot Seat” has already seen success in other territories, and ITV is confident that the UK audience will embrace the new format as well.
Matthew Worthy, Co-CEO of Stellify Media, the production company behind the show, expressed his pride in bringing Millionaire Hot Seat to life for ITV. He described the spin-off as “the cheeky younger sibling” of the original Millionaire, bringing a new energy to the franchise. The show promises to deliver even more of Clarkson’s sharp wit and engaging moments as contestants take their turn on the “money ladder.” However, Millionaire Hot Seat will offer a fresh tone, pace, and feel, making it distinct from the classic version that fans know and love.
As Clarkson embraces this new role, fans can also look forward to his return with Clarkson’s Farm in the near future. The sixth season of the popular farming documentary has already wrapped filming, and it will be available on Prime Video in the coming months. With eight exciting episodes, this new season is sure to continue Clarkson’s captivating journey into the world of farming, offering plenty of laughs, challenges, and unexpected moments. Clarkson’s diverse television career continues to captivate audiences, making his upcoming projects something to eagerly anticipate.
