Suspicious Late-Night Theft Rocks Area Surrounding Jeremy Clarkson’s Farm

Police are appealing for information after a Land Rover was stolen in broad daylight from the village of Chadlington, Oxfordshire — the same rural community where television presenter Jeremy Clarkson runs his well‑known Diddly Squat Farm.

The Incident

According to Thames Valley Police, the vehicle — a silver Land Rover Freelander, described as a compact off‑road SUV — was taken from Brook End in Chadlington at approximately 12:20 p.m. on Thursday, December 4.

At the time of the theft, the Freelander was displaying registration plates OE08 LKO. Witnesses and officers believe the vehicle was driven away in the direction of Leafield, heading towards Witney.

Distinctive Features

Investigators noted that the stolen Freelander carries a unique leopard sticker in the rear window, which may help residents or motorists identify it if spotted.

Police have urged anyone living nearby to check CCTV systems, Ring doorbell cameras, or other home security footage for evidence that could assist the investigation.

A police spokesperson said:

“Please could residents in the area check CCTV/Ring doorbell cameras or, if you have any further information, contact police and quote reference number 43250617029.”

Local Context

Chadlington, a picturesque village in the Cotswolds, is best known in recent years as the home of Jeremy Clarkson’s 1,000‑acre Diddly Squat Farm, which he purchased in 2008. The farm and its shop have become a tourist attraction following the success of Clarkson’s Amazon Prime series Clarkson’s Farm.

The village is also closely associated with Kaleb Cooper, a young farmer and television personality who works alongside Clarkson and has become a familiar face to fans of the show.

Community Impact

While car thefts are not uncommon across rural England, the incident has drawn attention due to its proximity to Clarkson’s farm, which has brought national media focus to the otherwise quiet community. Chadlington, located just a few miles from Chipping Norton, is typically regarded as a peaceful area, making the theft particularly unsettling for residents.

Police are continuing their inquiries and encourage anyone with knowledge of the vehicle’s whereabouts to come forward.
