Kelvin Fletcher confirms ‘Christmas special’ underway at the family farm

Kelvin Fletcher and his wife Liz have been sharing their farming journey with fans after buying a 120-acre plot of land back in 2021

Kelvin Fletcher has disclosed that romance has been blossoming on his family farm, whilst playfully referencing his relationship with wife Liz.

Viewers will know the pair embraced farming life in 2021 after purchasing a 120-acre estate in Wincle, near Macclesfield.

Kelvin, renowned for his portrayal of farmer Andy Sugden in Emmerdale, chronicled the farm’s establishment in the BBC television series Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure, which broadcast in January 2022.

The couple have subsequently shared their agricultural ventures – alongside their expanding family of four children – on ITV’s Fletchers’ Family Farm since 2023.

On Thursday (November 13), Kelvin and Liz joined host Lorraine Kelly live from their farm on ITV’s Lorraine, where their farming journey has also been featured, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Updating Lorraine on recent developments, Liz referenced a fire which occurred during their holiday before adding: “You’ve just got to keep carrying on and we have done!”.

“We’ve expanded on the cows, we’ve expanded on the sheep. We’ve had a bit of romance at the farm. We’ve had our very first wedding, which was beautiful and there’s so much more to come.”

Kelvin chimed in, revealing that new arrivals are anticipated at the farm next spring as mating season is currently underway. “Speaking of sheep, this is now mating season as you mentioned before..”

The former soap actor joked: “I have to be clear, that’s not me and Liz! That is for the sheep. We’re getting the tup ready because we’re already looking ahead to springtime, when we will be expecting some lambs. So, the important time now is with our male sheep and getting them ready to go out there and meet the females.”

Beyond their farming duties, the pair are also gearing up for fresh television projects. Speaking to Lorraine, Liz expressed her enthusiasm for their upcoming programme, Fletcher’s Country Workshop.

“We’re renovating, restoration, baking traditional recipes and who doesn’t love decorations and painting…” Liz revealed. “We do get to see that side on the farm and I’m so excited, that’s out in December. It’s a one-off show and I can’t wait for everybody to see it.”

Kelvin added: “Speaking of Christmas, we’ve just come back from filming a Christmas special. So, I won’t give no spoilers here, I’ll get in trouble! But, we’ve just been filming a Christmas special in preparation for our own Christmas event here.”

This follows Kelvin’s recent Instagram update showcasing snapshots of what he, Liz and his family have been occupied with lately.

In the post, Kelvin penned: “Last few weeks have been the usual… No week is ever the same! Still don’t really know what I do for a living, or what I want to be when I’m older, but just enjoying the ride!” He was swiftly inundated with messages. His former Emmerdale colleague, Laura Norton, responded: “You’re all nothing short of amazing.”

Charley Webb also expressed her admiration, simply stating: “LOVE.”

Rugby player Thomas Burgess added his praise, commenting: “The best lad.”
