Kelvin Fletcher Reveals New Injury as He Pleads for Directions to A&E

Kelvin Fletcher has returned for the third season of his heartwarming ITV series Fletchers’ Family Farm.

Kelvin Fletcher revealed why his injury from participating in a charity rugby match had become his next ‘biggest concern’.

Fletcher’s Family Farm returned on Sunday (November 16) morning with the ITV programme once again documenting the daily agricultural responsibilities of former Emmerdale actor Kelvin, his wife Liz and their four children.

During the episode, the 41-year-old performer introduced ITV audiences to several volunteers from the David Lewis Centre, a charitable organisation supporting people with complex requirements.

Fletcher, who serves as an ambassador for the organisation, explained that he had registered to participate in a local rugby tournament for fundraising purposes, enlisting ‘world class’ players Gareth Ellis, Mark Flanagan and Danny McGuire.

Flanagan, who served as team captain on the day, initially sidelined Fletcher, observing that he ‘doesn’t really know what he’s doing’.

Flanagan continued: “He’s an actor, he’s a farmer, he’s a great dancer but when it comes to rugby, I’m not quite sure he knows what he’s doing so it’s a good chance for people who are a bit more experienced.

“Kelvin can get his notepad out and can make a few pointers and see how it goes.”

Fletcher eventually managed to participate, but footage showed him being brought down by an opposing player, with him chuckling “I got pummelled good there, didn’t I?”.

Regrettably, the situation proved less amusing as he disclosed: “A little injury. I’m hoping, fingers crossed I’ve not, but it feels like I’ve torn my bicep.”

The timing couldn’t be more unfortunate as throughout the episode, the star had been discussing his plans to showcase some of his Lincoln Red cows at the forthcoming Royal Cheshire Show.

His wife Liz queried: “My main concern is can you still pull the cow on the Tuesday?”, to which the former Strictly champion responded: “That’s what I’m worried about. I have to get you in. Super sub.”

n a separate interview, she expressed her concerns: “I don’t know if he’s pulled a muscle, snapped a tendon, whatever’s happened, I want to make sure he can lead the cow.

“It’s the arm he would lead the cow on as well so we’re going to have to get him strapped up and make sure he’s alright.”

After revealing that the Farmyard Flyers had placed fifth out of a possible sixth in the rugby tournament, Fletcher’s upbeat voiceover continued: “All in all, despite the bruises, it’s been a fantastic day.

“Now, if someone could kindly direct me to the nearest A&E, that would be great.”

He then admitted to the camera: “My biggest concern now is getting fit for the Cheshire show for cow duties so we’ll have to see how it goes.”

So, will Kelvin be able to participate in the Royal Cheshire Show or will his recent injury hinder his involvement?

Fletchers’ Family Farm continues every Sunday on ITV.
