Fletchers' Family Farm

Liz Marsland’s Tearful Moment on Fletcher’s Family Farm

The latest episode of ITV’s Fletcher’s Family Farm delivered one of the most heartfelt moments of the series so far, as Liz Marsland was left visibly emotional after her husband, actor-turned-farmer Kelvin Fletcher, unveiled their newest farming venture.

Now in its third series in 2025, the reality programme follows Kelvin, Liz, and their four children as they continue to build their dream life on a 120-acre farm nestled in the picturesque Peak District. Over the past four years, viewers have watched the family transform the land into a thriving home for animals, crops, and a growing list of farm-made products. This year, they even opened their gates to couples by offering the farm as a wedding venue, further cementing its reputation as a place of rustic charm and community spirit.

But Sunday’s episode, which aired on November 30th, brought a particularly special milestone. Kelvin surprised Liz with the arrival of their very first bottles of Wincle Peak Gin—a project that had been quietly in the works for months.

Standing in their farmhouse kitchen, Kelvin presented boxes fresh from delivery, his excitement barely contained. “The big reveal, Liz,” he announced, handing her the carefully packaged bottles. He reminded her of the blankets she had surprised him with last year, before explaining how this new idea had grown from their shared passion for using the farm’s natural resources. “We had the idea of using everything we’ve foraged from the hedgerows, spring water, and curating our own gin. Well, it’s here, in bottle form, ready to taste.”

Liz’s reaction was immediate and heartfelt. Her eyes widened in disbelief before she exclaimed: “So, you’ve done it?” Kelvin proudly held up the first bottle of Wincle Peak Gin, now officially available to purchase through the Fletcher’s Farm shop.

The bottle itself impressed Liz, who admired its elegant green design. “Wow,” she said softly, before adding, “I love it.” Kelvin, clearly relieved by her approval, admitted: “It’s been a long time coming.”

As he read aloud the message printed on the back of the bottle—a tribute to their journey and the spirit of family behind the product—Liz was overcome with emotion. She laughed through tears, wiping her eyes as she reflected on how far they had come since first stepping into farming life. “I don’t know whether to laugh or cry, it’s dramatic, init?” she confessed, her voice breaking slightly.

Kelvin teased her gently, noting her “tears in your eyes,” while Liz lightened the mood with a playful quip: “How many bottles do you need to drink to believe that?”

The couple’s banter captured the essence of their partnership—equal parts humour, resilience, and shared ambition. “We’re actors!” Kelvin joked defensively. “It’s all about the messaging.” Liz reassured him with a pat on the shoulder, smiling: “I know.”

Kelvin then reflected on the significance of the project. “We are a family, we’re not master distillers. We’ve taken ingredients from our little farm in the Peak District and we’ve created a drink, hopefully, for people to enjoy.”

Finally, Liz took her first sip of the gin. Her verdict was honest but glowing: “It needs a tonic, but it’s very good!” Her ecstatic reaction sealed the moment, marking the launch of yet another chapter in the Fletcher family’s farming adventure.
