DAWSON CITY, YUKON — What began as an ordinary day of gold mining for Discovery Channel’s Gold Rush star Parker Schnabel has turned into one of the most astonishing finds in Yukon history — a sealed underground vault containing over $50 million in pure gold.
Schnabel and his crew had been following what they believed to be a promising pay streak when heavy machinery hit an unusually hard surface beneath the frozen permafrost.
