Parker Schnabel Returns to Gold Rush for Record-Breaking Season 16

YUKON TERRITORY — November 7, 2025 — Parker Schnabel is back, and the stakes have never been higher. The 31-year-old mining superstar is returning to Gold Rush for its 16th season, determined not just to dig for gold, but to reclaim his reputation after a challenging year.

This season, Schnabel is taking on a monumental goal at his brand-new Dominion Creek property: 10,000 ounces of gold. To achieve it, he has assembled a massive operation with over 60 machines and four wash plants, a logistical feat that pushes both man and machine to the limit. “It’s a lot of work,” Schnabel admitted. “But if we can pull it off, it’ll change everything.”

At the heart of this ambitious project are Schnabel’s trusted lieutenants, Mitch Blask and Tyson Lee, who have stepped up as leaders in their own right. “Success in this business depends entirely on having the right people,” Schnabel said. “If your crew’s hungry and capable, everything else falls into place.”

The rest of the Gold Rush crew is facing its own challenges. Tony Beets, the self-styled “King of the Klondike,” continues to dominate at Indian River, with his son Kevin taking on his second year as mine boss, eager to prove he’s ready for a future leadership role. Rick Ness, however, faces uncertainty at Duncan Creek, where a missing water license threatens his entire operation. Fans are left wondering if Ness can recover or if his gold mining journey may be in jeopardy.

Despite the intensity of the competition, Schnabel revealed that his relationship with Tony Beets has improved over time. “Now that we’re not working directly against each other, we’ve actually become somewhat decent friends,” he said, noting that the two even shared a few beers during filming—a rare moment of camaraderie amid the chaos of mining life.

Season 16 also reflects Schnabel’s growing concern for the future of the mining industry. He criticized the government for a lack of regulatory clarity, calling out policies under former President Donald Trump. “Miners who follow the rules are being treated the same as those who don’t care at all,” he said. “You’d think if I do things the right way, they’d treat me better. But that’s not how it’s going.”

Despite these obstacles, Schnabel promises that this season will be one of the wildest yet. With gold prices soaring, massive production goals, and internal pressures mounting, fans can expect a season packed with drama, danger, and plenty of surprises.

Gold Rush season 16 premieres Thursday, November 7th at 8:7C on Discovery Channel, offering a front-row seat to Parker Schnabel’s boldest and most ambitious campaign yet.
