Amanda Owen dismisses backlash over her new appearance with unapologetic message
Our Yorkshire Farm’s Amanda Owen has responded to criticism about her appearance with a defiant Instagram post, telling a small number of critics she’s ‘not sorry’ for her new look
Amanda Owen, star of Our Yorkshire Farm and Our Farm Next Door, has responded to criticism from trolls who commented on her new look.
The Yorkshire Shepherdess took to Instagram on Friday (December 5), sharing a screenshot of two negative remarks about her and her ex Clive left beneath her posts, reports the Express.
One read: “All smoke and mirrors… Clive will die as a farmer, Amanda is a pretend farmer.” Another targeted her slimmer appearance.
Amanda subsequently shared additional photographs accompanied by the message: “Am I perfect? [Red X emoji) Am I fake? [Red X emoji] Am I a real person, flaws and all? [Green tick emoji].”
She went on: “So here’s just a few images from the last few weeks.
“Hopefully a few folk may feel inspired, take courage to be their own unique selves and refuse to be held back.
“The majority of people will just look at the images and scroll on, rightfully busy with their own lives.
“A very small number of people will be enraged. Enjoy. Not sorry.”
The mother-of-nine went on to share photographs featuring her children and scenes from farm life, including pictures with sons Miles and Sydney Owen, images of her caring for livestock, and stylish photographs showcasing her figure in a black dress away from the demands of rural life in the Yorkshire Dales.
Amanda’s supporters rallied behind her following the candid post.
One commented: “They walk among us Amanda! Success breeds hatred for whatever pathetic reasons they are deluded by! Keep doing great things and loving your life and family.”
Another remarked: “Oh God forbid a beautiful strong independent woman can’t possibly be a farmer. Keep being you Amanda.”
Someone else penned: “It’s so sad that people feel so bad inside that they are unkind to others. Your show has bought enjoyment to millions of people, myself included. Keep on being you and ignore the awful comments. Pity them. Can’t wait for the next series to have an update on Anty John’s.”
Another noted: “Met you at your book signing at Grassington on Sunday. You are a lovely person inside and out. Haters are just jealous.”
Amanda became a household name through Channel 5’s reality programme Our Yorkshire Farm, featuring her former spouse Clive Owen, as their family of 11 documented life managing the isolated Ravenseat farm in the Yorkshire Dales.
The Owen family has subsequently relocated their television presence to Channel 4, where they’ve completed two series of their fresh programme Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids, following their efforts to transform a barn into living accommodation.
The broadcaster has ordered two additional series, with the third and fourth instalments scheduled for broadcast in 2026 and 2027 respectively.
