The centuries-old mystery surrounding Oak Island may be closer than ever to being solved, as the Lagina brothers and their team make groundbreaking discoveries in their quest for hidden treasure. With the latest advancements in excavation at the Money Pit, alongside intriguing finds in the swamp, excitement is reaching new heights.
A Journey Underground
For the first time in the history of the search, The Curse of Oak Island team has physically entered the depths of the Money Pit. Thanks to the efforts of DUMAS Contracting Limited, the Garden Shaft has been reconstructed to a depth of 44 feet, allowing Rick Lagina and operations manager Scott Barlow to descend underground. Using the high-definition INUKTUN Spectrum 120 Camera, the team has been monitoring progress, and their observations are revealing promising leads.
“It’s intensely emotional to be underground in the Money Pit,” said Rick Lagina. “This is a moment we will remember for the rest of our lives.”
The Money Pit: Gold and Silver in the Water
One of the key reasons the team remains hopeful is due to the scientific testing of water samples extracted from the shaft. These tests have revealed high trace evidence of gold and silver, fueling speculation that treasure may lie just beyond their reach. The next steps involve drilling horizontally and vertically in hopes of locating additional tunnels or chambers that could be hiding the long-sought-after riches.
“There are pretty concrete signs that say this might be the original Money Pit or at least very close to it,” said Marty Lagina.
A Crucial Discovery in the Swamp
Meanwhile, at the swamp, Rick Lagina and his team have unearthed what appears to be a centuries-old wooden stake. The significance of this find is tied to previous discoveries by the late Oak Island landowner and treasure hunter, Fred Nolan. Carbon-dated stakes found in the swamp decades ago were linked to the 1500s, leading to the theory that the swamp was artificially created to hide something of great value.
“It’s certainly got the proper look and size,” Rick noted. “This could be yet another piece of evidence proving that the swamp is man-made.”
The Paved Area: A Hidden Pathway?
Further investigations have also led to a mysterious rock formation deep within the swamp, which experts believe could be a long-buried roadway or dock. This “paved area”, as it’s being called, has drawn increased attention from geoscientist Dr. Ian Spooner, who suggests it may have once been part of an engineered structure, possibly used to transport heavy materials—or treasure.
“Something significant happened here,” Spooner stated. “We just need to determine who, why, and how.”
A Legacy Continues: The Cremona Document
Adding even more intrigue, Rick Lagina has recently inherited the research archives of the late historian and author Zena Halpern. Among the vast collection of historical texts is a copy of the Cremona Document, which details a supposed journey by 12th-century Templar knights to North America. If the document holds any truth, it could suggest that the legendary Knights Templar may have been involved in hiding treasure on Oak Island centuries before European settlers arrived.
