Clarkson’s Farm Star Teams Up With Richard Hammond’s Daughter in Top Gear-Inspired Crossover
A rising face from Clarkson’s Farm has joined forces with a familiar name from the Top Gear family in a crossover moment that’s delighting fans of both shows.
Harriet Cowan, a farmhand from Derbyshire who became a breakout presence in the fourth season of Jeremy Clarkson’s hit Prime Video series, recently appeared in a lighthearted video alongside Izzy Hammond — the 25-year-old daughter of Richard Hammond, Clarkson’s longtime co-star on Top Gear and The Grand Tour.
The pair starred in a DriveTribe YouTube video where Cowan attempted to teach Hammond the finer points of tractor driving. True to form, the lesson was anything but smooth, with Hammond struggling to master the gears of several bright-red Massey Ferguson tractors. After stalling one of the vehicles, she laughed at herself, quipping: “All the farmers are going to laugh at me.”
From Diddly Squat to DriveTribe
Cowan’s appearance alongside Hammond comes after her successful introduction to audiences earlier this year. She first joined Clarkson’s Farm in season four, stepping in for Kaleb Cooper — the show’s fan-favorite young farmer — while he was away on tour.
During her stint at Diddly Squat Farm in Chadlington, Oxfordshire, Cowan quickly made her mark. Working closely with Jeremy Clarkson, she offered both practical farmhand skills and fresh on-screen energy, soon becoming a regular feature of the series released between May and June.
Reflecting on how she landed the job, Cowan revealed in the DriveTribe video that she hadn’t expected the opportunity but was pleased to bring some balance to a male-dominated genre. “I don’t know if it was always meant to be a woman or not, but it was very nice to be asked to do that,” she explained. “To go in and show women power on an agriculture TV show where often it isn’t something where you’d see many women.”
Two Worlds Collide
For Izzy Hammond, the collaboration represented a playful crossover between her father’s motoring world and Clarkson’s current farming venture. While Richard Hammond spent years alongside Clarkson and James May driving supercars at high speed, his daughter’s challenge was decidedly slower — yet no less nerve-racking.
Fans of both Top Gear and Clarkson’s Farm welcomed the crossover, noting the symbolic bridge between Clarkson’s television past and present. Izzy, who has occasionally featured on her father’s projects, brought her trademark humor to the segment, while Cowan provided the patient teacher role as Hammond gamely stalled, restarted, and laughed her way through the lesson.
What Comes Next?
As for Harriet Cowan’s future on Clarkson’s Farm, it remains unclear whether she will return for the fifth season, which is currently being filmed in Oxfordshire. With Kaleb Cooper back in the fold, her role may once again be temporary — but fans have expressed interest in seeing her continue as part of the Diddly Squat crew.
Whether or not she returns, Cowan has already made her mark. In just a few months, she has gone from a behind-the-scenes farm worker to a recognized personality in two of Britain’s most popular motoring and farming franchises.
And with Clarkson, Hammond, and now Hammond’s daughter all connected in some form, the crossover hints at a playful continuation of the old Top Gear chemistry — even if, this time, the vehicles are tractors instead of supercars.
