Jeremy Clarkson has finally put fans’ minds at ease with an update about the future of his hit Amazon Prime series Clarkson’s Farm.

The former Top Gear presenter, who has swapped supercars for tractors and now devotes his days to life at Diddly Squat Farm, has assured loyal viewers that the show will continue — despite earlier hints that it might be taking a lengthy break after its fifth season.

In recent months, fans began to worry when Clarkson, 64, suggested that filming might be coming to a halt after wrapping Season 5, which is set to air next year. His comments sparked widespread speculation that the much-loved reality series could be nearing its end. However, Clarkson has now confirmed that while the crew is taking a short breather, the cameras will return to capture more from his Oxfordshire farm.

Writing in his latest column for The Sun, Clarkson said:

“It’s likely that the brilliant guys who edit our show will find some nuggets of humour in the mix and that there’ll be some laughs in season five — and in the relentless sunshine, the Cotswolds did look fantastic. But at the coalface, it was knackering. Are we carrying on? Well, we’ve sent the cameras away to give us a break from that side of things for a while, but yup.”

He added that farmhand Kaleb Cooper has already returned to the fields:

“Kaleb’s out there now in his tractor, and after I’ve finished writing this, I’ll be joining him. The show goes on.”

The update comes as Clarkson’s Farm prepares to deliver its most emotional season yet. The fifth instalment is expected to showcase a particularly tough chapter in the Diddly Squat story, after the farm was hit by an outbreak of bovine tuberculosis. The illness, caused by bacterial infection, forced the farm into lockdown and brought operations to a halt for two months.

The disease had devastating consequences for Clarkson’s herd, as all infected cattle had to be euthanised — including one pregnant cow carrying twins. Speaking candidly, Clarkson described the ordeal as one of the most challenging experiences he’s faced since taking up farming, admitting that the last year had been far from the comedic misadventures fans have come to expect.

“Fans might be expecting another light-hearted season full of tractor mishaps and countryside laughs,” he said, “but it isn’t. The last 12 months have been a conveyor belt of misery.”

Despite the hardships, Clarkson and his team have pushed through to complete filming for Season 5. Last week, the television personality confirmed on Instagram that production had officially wrapped, sharing a celebratory photo featuring his girlfriend Lisa Hogan and the entire Diddly Squat crew — including Kaleb Cooper, land agent Charlie Ireland, and drystone waller Gerald Cooper.

Captioning the post, Clarkson wrote simply:

“Season 5. It’s a wrap.”

While an official release date has yet to be announced, fans can rest assured that Clarkson’s Farm will indeed return — with Clarkson himself promising that the spirit of the show remains alive and well.
