Lisa Hogan on Jeremy Clarkson’s heart surgery recovery in ’emotional’ new series

Jeremy Clarkson’s partner Lisa Hogan has opened up about how he ignored advice following heart surgery.

Jeremy Clarkson’s partner, Lisa Hogan, has revealed there remains one aspect he “absolutely refuses” to address following his recent health scare.

The popular series ‘Clarkson’s Farm’ is set to return for its fifth season shortly, with producers hinting it will prove to be the most emotionally charged instalment to date.

The forthcoming episodes will document Jeremy Clarkson’s cardiac issues, which necessitated the fitting of a stent.

He was taken to hospital in an ambulance after suffering with tightness in his chest and pins and needles in his arm, with medical staff discovering blocked arteries.

Ahead of the new season’s launch, his partner Lisa Hogan revealed that Jeremy largely disregarded medical advice to rest and recuperate properly.

She explained: “Jeremy was advised to rest for a couple of weeks, and that lasted about a day and a half. He still absolutely refuses to eat cottage cheese.”

Andy Wilman, the programme’s executive producer, described how the upcoming season “takes a turn”, with episodes becoming “much heavier and more emotional than anything we’ve seen before”.

He continued: “In many ways it’s the most personal series yet, not because Jeremy wants to make it about himself, but simply because of circumstance.

“When the series opens, he’s sidelined with a heart problem, and that shapes everything that follows.”

Jeremy has subsequently confirmed he is “absolutely fine” after the cardiac procedure, telling Heart Breakfast he has shed weight thanks to “fat jabs”. Presenter Jamie Theakston remarked: “Can I just say you look very well. I know you’ve had a couple of health scares recently.”

The former Top Gear presenter responded: “Yes, it’s fat jabs. I look like a Lowry painting.” Confirming he is “very well”, Clarkson acknowledged: “It was quite a fraught year last year but no, I’m absolutely fine now. Tickety-boo.”

The preview for the new series of Clarkson’s Farm shows the television personality receiving hospital treatment, before discussing his recuperation with co-star Kaleb Cooper.

He explains: “You’ve got three arteries that feed your heart to keep it pumping. My heart wasn’t getting any blood.”

Despite medical advice to rest, Jeremy was spotted participating in a farmers’ demonstration in London and continuing to face various agricultural challenges.
