Parker Schnabel Pushes Past Repairs To Earn $1.4 Million In A Week!

In a high-pressure season of Gold Rush that’s already seen its fair share of challenges, Parker Schnabel’s new Sulfur Creek operation is proving just how tough the gold mining business can be. The past week has been a true test of patience and perseverance for Parker and his team, as mechanical breakdowns and equipment issues threatened to derail their ambitious goals.

Setbacks at Sulfur Creek

At the heart of this week’s difficulties was the breakdown of Bob, the key wash plant for the operation. In its first full week of running at Sulfur Creek, Bob suffered a critical failure with its pre-wash conveyor, which brought the entire operation to a halt. The pre-wash conveyor’s drive shaft broke down, forcing father-and-son mechanics, Bill and Justin, to work against the clock to get it back up and running.

The drive shaft that was supposed to replace the broken part wasn’t an easy fix. It was too long and the keyway grooves didn’t line up properly. The pair, however, had no choice but to improvise. They managed to flip the shaft, cut it to the right length, and grind the keyway to fit. In a tense moment, Justin and Bill were able to get Bob running again, much to the relief of Parker and the team.

“We were way behind schedule, and just the thought of Bob being down was incredibly frustrating,” said Parker. “But we have to keep going, there’s no time for mistakes now.”

A Major Haul at Sulfur Creek

Despite the setback, the team managed to push through the issues and continue their work. The results? A solid recovery at the end of the week.

In total, Bob’s operations at Sulfur Creek yielded an impressive 299 ounces of gold—just shy of Parker’s target of 300 ounces. This haul, worth nearly $3.4 million, represents a major achievement given the challenges the team faced.

“It’s nice looking gold over there,” Parker said, reviewing the haul. “You almost have a 300 ounce, but we’ll take it. That’s still a great result.”

Big Red and Roxan’s Contributions

Meanwhile, Big Red, the other key wash plant working in the Bridge Cut, also made strides this week. It delivered 77 ounces, worth about $250,000, marking its best cleanup of the year.

Roxan, another wash plant, was working in the Lung Cut, where it recovered 168.2 ounces, worth over $420,000. While slightly less than last week’s haul, it’s still a solid performance, contributing significantly to the team’s weekly earnings.

A Challenging Yet Rewarding Week

All in all, the team’s efforts this week resulted in a combined total of 565.7 ounces of gold, worth $1.4 million. Despite the technical hiccups, Parker’s Sulfur Creek operation is showing signs of promise, even as the crew battles mechanical issues and tight deadlines.

With gold prices soaring and the pressure mounting, Parker remains focused on hitting his 10,000-ounce target for the season, but as this week has shown, even the most meticulously planned operations can be upended by something as simple as a broken shaft.

For fans of Gold Rush, it’s another reminder of the relentless effort required to succeed in the unforgiving world of gold mining. And as Parker says, “We can’t go back and tell Parker we don’t have the right stuff—we just fix it and keep moving.”

Parker and his crew still have a long way to go before they reach their goal, but with determination and a little ingenuity, they might just pull it off.
