Amanda Owen and Family Return as Our Farm Next Door Continues at Ravenseat

The Owen family will return to television screens early next year as Amanda Owen, Clive Owen, and their nine children continue their ambitious renovation project in a new series of Our Farm Next Door.

The popular More4 programme is set to return on Monday, 19 January, with its third series following the family’s ongoing efforts to transform a once-derelict farmhouse located next door to their long-time home at Ravenseat Farm in the Yorkshire Dales. Across five new episodes, viewers will once again be invited into the Owens’ demanding world, where major building work runs alongside the unrelenting realities of hill farming.

The series focuses on the restoration of the neighbouring property known as Anty John’s, a building that had fallen into serious disrepair before the family took on the challenge of bringing it back to life. Having previously completed much of the external renovation, the new series sees the focus shift indoors, as the family begin the complex task of turning the shell of the building into a functional, modern family home.

From planning internal layouts and installing plumbing to finally securing running water, the project moves into a crucial phase. The work is carried out largely by the family themselves, often under difficult conditions and against tight time pressures imposed by both the weather and the farming calendar.

Alongside the physical transformation of the property, Amanda Owen continues to explore the history of Anty John’s, uncovering stories linked to its past occupants. Among them is its most notable former resident, Swaledale map maker Anthony Clarkson, whose connection to the building adds a layer of local heritage to the renovation.

Despite the scale of the building work, life at Ravenseat Farm does not slow down. The series continues to document the daily demands of running a working hill farm in one of England’s most remote landscapes, as the family balances livestock care, seasonal pressures, and family life with the ongoing restoration.

In August 2025, Channel 4 confirmed that Our Farm Next Door had been commissioned not only for a third series, but also a fourth. Wise Owl Films, the production company behind the programme, said future episodes would continue to show the realities of farming life for the Owens family, offering viewers a close-up look at their day-to-day challenges and achievements in the Yorkshire Dales.

The Owens first became widely known through Our Yorkshire Farm, which aired on Channel 5 and documented their sheep farming life at Ravenseat Farm near Richmond, North Yorkshire. The series helped turn Amanda Owen — widely known as the “Yorkshire Shepherdess” — into a familiar face to audiences across the UK.

Since then, the family’s television presence has expanded. Their son Reuben Owen now fronts his own Channel 5 spin-off, Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales, which follows his independent journey working across farms in the region.

With Our Farm Next Door returning for a new series, the Owens’ story now spans three separate programmes, each offering a different perspective on life, work, and family in the Yorkshire Dales — and highlighting how tradition, resilience, and restoration continue to shape their lives both on and off screen.
