Our Yorkshire Farm’s Clive Owen’s family decision as he makes retirement admission
Our Yorkshire Farm star Clive Owen has opened up about his future on the farm and who he will ‘pass the baton on to’ when he retires
Our Yorkshire Farm personality Clive Owen pondered his farming future and considered who might “take over the reins” upon his retirement.
The farmer made these candid remarks following a conversation with Amanda about weather conditions and their impact on crop yields during yesterday’s episode of Our Farm Next Door.
“It is a young fellas’ game,” Clive confided to viewers.
“I am almost 70 now, so I have got to think about what comes next. It is something the family are discussing at the moment to see where the future lies for everyone.”
With a chuckle, Clive remarked, “It is nice for me to pass on my shears,” reports the Express.
During a later segment, Clive provided an update, saying, “We are just beginning to shear sheep. I think Amanda is going to shear and Milo a bit later, and I am not if I can avoid it.”
Offering a glimpse into his dynamic with former spouse Amanda, the farmer continued, “Me and Amanda, for some crazy reason, it has worked out alright.
“We are not together, but we can keep things going to suit everybody, and that is what we intend to do.”
Amanda contributed, “Things are good, and I think being busy plays a huge part in keeping everybody’s focus.”
Elsewhere in the programme, Miles revealed his aspirations, expressing his desire to pursue something “to do with agriculture”.
He explained, “I am the eldest here now on the farm, so now, a lot of the pressure is on me, you could say, but it is just one of those things.
“I hadn’t thought about the future and what I’d wanna do that far yet, but definitely something with agriculture. But there is a lot more agriculture in the world than just hill farms.”
Clive continued: “What the future holds, you can never quite be sure. It is something the family are discussing at the moment to see where the future lies for everyone.”
During the same episode, the Owen family celebrated Nancy’s birthday, leaving viewers amazed by her mature appearance.
One viewer commented: “I am enjoying the second part of the series, can’t believe how tall and different the girls look.”
Another remarked: “Lovely photo, how time flies,” whilst a third exclaimed: “OMG, how is Nancy nine already?”
Someone else observed: “They are all growing up so fast, especially Nancy,”.
A fellow fan concurred: “Oh my, so grown up.”
One viewer also drew comparisons between Nancy and Raven, noting the siblings’ resemblance.
Our Farm Next Door remains available for viewing on All4.
