Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen has opened up about her children leaving home, with daughter Clemmy revealing she wants to become a farmer and stay at Ravenseat
Our Yorkshire Farm favourite Amanda Owen has tugged at viewers’ heartstrings after discussing the prospect of her children eventually leaving home.
In a teaser for tonight’s episode of Our Farm Next Door, Amanda’s daughter Clemmy revealed her ambition to pursue farming, mirroring her parents’ career path. Clemmy explained: “I don’t want to go to uni, I want to stay around here. I think I am going to be a farmer.”
She continued: “I like it at Ravenseat because it’s not easy. You don’t sit inside and do nothing. You get new stuff, like catching sheep and stuff, they’re normally not on your side, and they do things you don’t want them to do.”
The youngster added: “So, it’s a good challenge,” and “And it just gets you more confident,” reports the Mirror. Reflecting on her children’s futures, Amanda shared: “I am not telling them all to stay here, rooted to the spot. They can go wherever they want.”
She acknowledged: “And I don’t doubt, they’re going to head off in their different directions to do what they want to do.” The shepherdess continued: “I wouldn’t be here if I hadn’t taken a chance on another life, and I want them to do the same.”
Amanda concluded: “But, I’ll always believe that they’ll have that appreciation and that feeling of belonging that comes with a place like this.” The sneak peek, posted by Amanda on Instagram, struck an emotional chord with followers. One supporter commented: “Oh, I’m definitely going to be emotional at this episode, I can tell already, so proud of you all xx.”
Another viewer added: “Pure joy to watch Amanda and what beautiful children you have inside and out x.” A third viewer chimed in: “THATS IT! Clem wants to be a farmer so I guess is better GET ON THAT HORSE.”
Another commented, “Aw, what a beautiful family, this has me feeling emotional.” Tonight’s episode promises plenty of activity, with the official description revealing: “As the main interior work approaches completion, Amanda takes the girls go on a camping trip under the stars in Swaledale, and heads to a local antiques shop in search of a traditional Yorkshire fireplace to restore and fit into Anty John’s new living room.”
The episode will also see: “Derek the historian takes Amanda, Clem, and Nancy to the church where the house’s former owner got married.”
