Kelvin Fletcher and wife suffer heartbreaking loss on farm ‘She has given up’

Kelvin Fletcher and his wife Liz faced a heartbreaking moment on their Cheshire farm
Life hasn’t always been straightforward for Kelvin Fletcher and his wife, Liz. On Sunday, ITV aired a repeat from the opening series of Fletcher’s Family Farm following the finale of the latest series, which chronicles the start of Kelvin and Liz’s adventure running their own farm in Cheshire.
In one scene, Kelvin and Liz openly discuss their experience hosting their inaugural event at the farm, and it’s evident that the duo were hardly ready when they initially launched the endeavour. The couple bickered as Kelvin admitted they were “just trying to survive.”
While attempting to feed their children and farm animals, Kelvin reflected, “Any parent will be able to relate to this, we are always that family that is always late. Once in a blue moon, we will be on time.
“I have not even brushed my teeth this morning, I have not had a shower, I’ve not done anything. It will get to midday, and I’ll realise, I haven’t eaten breakfast, I haven’t done this, I haven’t done that, but that is the nature of the beast,” reports the Mirror.
He continued, “I do say to Liz, there will be a time when it’s a bit more settled, and it’ll be easier. We will look back and think, ‘Do you remember those days? Do you remember when I was feeding the twins, and you were out with the kids feeding the pigs? How did we do it?’
“I don’t know, it’s all a blur. It will be one of them where we don’t know how we did it, we just survive it. Yes, it’s crazy, yes it’s chaotic, but it’s beautiful.” Following the school run, Kelvin and Liz clashed over preparations for their inaugural farm event, with Kelvin acknowledging that the couple “don’t always see eye to eye”.
While Liz insisted she was ready, Kelvin disagreed, stating, “You’re not ready.” Brandishing some ribbon Liz had bought, Kelvin observed, “This trail probably goes over about 60 acres, and she’s going to decorate it with five bits of ribbon.”
Liz seemed unbothered, shrugging off the remark with laughter. Later in the episode, the duo encountered a devastating setback when one of their ewes experienced complications while lambing.
The couple were forced to step in and help the sheep deliver her second lamb, following the tragic death of the first.
“It just feels dead,” Kelvin said as he pulled the lamb from its mother. A visibly emotional Liz responded, “That was hard because you feel like you’re going to break their legs, but you have to get them out. It is just really sad to see them like that, all floppy and….it’s horrible.”
“It’s heartbreaking to see that and witness that,” Kelvin said as he shared his regret. “Should we have got involved 15 minutes ago? Would that have made a difference? But there is a fine line between shoving your hand up every two seconds to letting nature take its course.”
He added, “It’s never a good sign the first one being like that, though.” The situation appeared to deteriorate further with the second lamb, as the sheep showed no desire to push, prompting Liz to remark, “She has given up.”
