TYLER MAHONEY: GOLD DIGGER, ENTREPRENEUR, AND MODERN-DAY PROSPECTOR
Between bulldozing old dig sites, launching a gold and opal drop, and prepping vending machines filled with protein bars, Tyler Mahoney is living proof that the modern prospector wears more than one hat — and sometimes, a merch-branded one at that.
In a candid, unfiltered week-in-the-life vlog, Mahoney, the star of multiple gold-hunting reality series and head of The Prospector Club, takes viewers behind the scenes of a life lived somewhere between raw outback soil and digital hustle.
“Every week is so different,” she says from the cab of a loader on Monday morning, sweat already beading as the Aussie heat kicks in. She’s out in the bush doing reclamation work — putting dirt back into holes left from previous digs. “Before we can open more ground, we’ve got to close off the old sites. That’s just part of how our permits work.”
But her week is far from just pushing dirt. By Tuesday, she’s in town finalizing a vending machine deal, proud to be diversifying her income streams. “Gold’s my main hustle,” she says, “but I want longevity. I’ve always been an entrepreneur.”
That entrepreneurial drive becomes the week’s theme. While others might stop at one business, Mahoney juggles four to five: a gold-selling business, collaborations with opal miners (“You’ll know who they are”), and now, vending machines supplying gyms with protein shakes, bars, and supplements.
By midweek, she’s coordinating The Prospector Club‘s biggest gold drop yet. She packs $500 and $1,000 nugget parcels, takes high-res product photos, and codes her own Squarespace pop-ups. “I had to Google how to add a checkout popup. It’s chaos,” she laughs.
Her hustle pays off. By Thursday morning, the website is nearly sold out. “I’m so grateful,” she says, sipping coffee before heading to the gym. “I get so nervous before a launch, but you guys showed up. Again.”
Off-camera, Mahoney is refreshingly honest. She talks about managing mental health, escaping restrictive eating habits, and even trying to balance her plant-based ethics with her health needs. “I used to be a strict vegan, but it was tied to my eating disorder. I’m working on it,” she shares over a breakfast of eggs and toast.
The weekend brings a whirlwind trip to York and a devil-themed 21st birthday party. Between laughs, drinks, and friends crawling through caravan windows after getting locked out, she gives a glimpse into the not-so-glamorous but very real life of a 20-something woman running multiple businesses from the bush.
“Hope you liked this,” she says, closing out her vlog on Monday. “Let me know what you want more of — I’m flying to Bali tomorrow, and I might just vlog that too.”
From the red dirt of the WA goldfields to the digital storefronts of a growing e-commerce empire, Tyler Mahoney proves that the spirit of the gold rush is alive and well — just with better Wi-Fi.
