Gold Rush: Mine Rescue With Freddy And Juan Make Gold Production Increased 50 Times Over!
In the remote hills of Washington State, what began as a struggling mining operation has transformed into a gold-producing powerhouse, thanks to a high-stakes intervention by mining legends Freddy Dodge and Juan Ibarra.
Levi and Corey, two local miners working a historically promising but logistically difficult claim, found their operation stalled by inefficient ore transport, limited tools, and gold losses during processing. That all changed when Freddy and Juan rolled in with tools, talent, and a bold plan.
Out With the Old, In With the Bold
The most dramatic improvement came with the installation of a 180-foot-long, high-speed ore chute—a 4-inch pipe running directly from the jaw crusher on Level 3 to the mill on Level 2. Suspended high above the treacherous haul road, the pipe eliminates the need for risky vehicle transport altogether.
“We’re streamlining the whole process,” said Juan. “Now the ore goes straight to processing without wasting time or endangering lives.”
But that was only the beginning.
Old-School Tech Meets Modern Ingenuity
To process the material more efficiently, Freddy and Juan introduced two game-changing systems:
-
A custom SLLE box built by Juan to catch free gold.
-
A restored spiral concentrator, first invented in 1943 by Ira B. Humphrey, used to separate fine gold from lighter material using centrifugal force.
After rescuing the 80-year-old spiral from decay, Freddy and Alex painstakingly refurbished it—burning out collapsed rubber liners with an oxy-acetylene torch and reinforcing the base for stability.
“This old girl’s seen a lot of gold in her time,” said Freddy. “We’re putting history back to work.”
Boom, Not Bust: Blasting for the Future
Recognizing the limitations of Levi’s small roto-hammer, Freddy arranged for a professional electronic blaster to train the team in safe, high-velocity blasting techniques. This will allow them to break into tougher sections of the vein with ease.
“It’s going to be a total game-changer,” Levi said, beaming. “Before, we were fighting the rock. Now we’re mining it.”
Results That Speak for Themselves
The impact? A staggering 233% increase in production over just six days.
Previously, the team was lucky to process 150 pounds of ore. After the overhaul, they’re pushing 500 pounds and counting—with clear, visible increases in recovered gold. Their latest yield totaled 1.68 ounces, valued at $3,864—50 times their earlier runs.
And the best part? There’s room to scale even more.
“We haven’t even maxed it out yet,” said Corey. “We could probably double this again.”
Looking Ahead
With the systems running smoothly and more training on the way, Levi and Corey are now poised to hit their goal of three ounces a week—and maybe more.
Freddy and Juan, who asked for payment only at season’s end—four ounces of gold instead of cash—expressed full confidence in the mine’s future.
“This is just the start,” said Freddy. “They’ve got what it takes. Now they’ve got the tools.”
