Clarkson’s Farm star Harriet Cowan aims savage swipe at Jeremy Clarkson about his ‘physique’
Harriet Cowan, the most recent breakout star from Jeremy’s hit Amazon Prime show, Clarkson’s Farm, has detailed how she came to work with the star, while issuing a savage four-word verdict
Harriet Cowan has aimed a swipe at her new TV co-star, Jeremy Clarkson, as she weighed in on the presenter’s approach to farming. In a recent interview, Harriet, Clarkson’s Farm’s most recent breakout star, detailed how she came to work with Jeremy on the hugely popular Amazon Prime series, which is now in its fourth series.
Harriet had already started developing an audience prior to her newfound TV stardom, amassing an impressive TikTok following of 40,000 fans (now 730,000), thanks to her tractor-themed content.
Similarly, her foray into Clarkson’s Farm would also begin on social media when she received a message from the team behind the show. Harriet explained how they were looking for somebody to come and help.
Harriet told the Sunday Times: “Charlie (Ireland, Clarkson’s land agent) let me know they were looking for someone to come and help. I think they were keen for it to be a woman who could do that role and show they could do it well.”
Harriet went on to share her thoughts on Jeremy, admitting that she wasn’t especially familiar with his work, although she’d heard of him, noting that she wasn’t “really into the cars”.
She said Jeremy is “very much like every other farmer I’ve ever met” and “very much willing to learn. He wanted to do well by the farm.” And, in a brutal dig, she added that “he’s got the physique of a farmer.”
The 24-year-old nurse and farmer stepped in for Jeremy’s other co-star, Kaleb Cooper, who works on the host’s now famous Diddly Squat farm in the Cotswolds, while he went on tour with a live show.
Harriet, who hails from Derbyshire, opted for two careers after drawing inspiration from her parents. Her mum is a nurse who hoped she would follow the same path, while her father runs the family farm.
She graduated from the University of Derby in 2023 and now works full-time as a nurse while continuing to assist her father. She uses social media to highlight what’s involved in running a farm.
Her work on Diddly Squat Farm involved everything from looking after the animals, to fixing fences. Meanwhile, she’s also said that she would be “very open” to a return to the farm if Jeremy needs her.
Writing about farming for the Sunday Times Magazine, Jeremy disclosed what he believes is the most “difficult thing” in one crucial part of the industry, revealing there are still aspects he doesn’t understand.
Some elements of food production remain a mystery to the Grand Tour star, who used the example of being unsure how to “turn a pig into a sausage” before detailing how it’s “even worse” with cows.
However, one thing stood out as the “most difficult”. He said: “But by far and away the most difficult thing would be turning my wheat into bread. This is something that has fascinated me for years because how on earth did anyone figure it out?”
