Jeremy Clarkson’s co-star Harriet Cowan shares harsh four-word verdict on the TV host

COTSWOLDS, UK — Life at Diddly Squat Farm is never short of drama, banter, and blunt honesty — especially if you ask the new faces behind Jeremy Clarkson’s hit Amazon Prime series.

The surprise breakout star of Clarkson’s Farm Season 4, Harriet Cowan, has made headlines this week after dishing out her candid verdict on Britain’s most outspoken farmer. The 24-year-old nurse-turned-agriculture-influencer stepped in for the show’s fan-favourite Caleb Cooper while he was on tour — and she didn’t hold back when asked about the Grand Tour host’s approach to farming.

“He’s got the physique of a farmer,” Harriet quipped in an interview with The Sunday Times, adding that Clarkson is “very much like every other farmer I’ve ever met — and very much willing to learn.”

Harriet, who shot to social media fame with her tractor videos (and now boasts over 730,000 TikTok followers), landed her role at Diddly Squat through a chance message from Clarkson’s land agent. While she wasn’t exactly a Top Gear die-hard, she admits she’d heard of Clarkson long before rolling up her sleeves at the farm — where she helped with everything from fence repairs to animal care.

The Derbyshire native, who juggles nursing shifts with working her family’s farm, says she’d happily return if the phone rings again.

Caleb’s Swipe: “You’re Not a Farmer!”

Meanwhile, Caleb Cooper, the farm’s resident tractor king, is proving he’s not afraid to poke the bear — or, in this case, the boss. In a new tongue-in-cheek ad for Clarkson’s Hawkstone Lager, Caleb stops a choir of real-life farmers mid-song to tease Clarkson: “Why are you singing? You’re not a farmer!”

The cheeky jab left the 65-year-old presenter speechless — and the pint clearly did the rest.

From 50p an Hour to Millionaire

While Clarkson’s farming know-how often comes under comedic fire, his right-hand man Caleb is laughing all the way to the bank. The 26-year-old contractor has transformed his Clarkson’s Farm fame into a million-pound business.

Clarkson’s Farm: Kaleb Cooper gave Harriet Cowan a rather frosty welcome to Diddly Squat

Caleb’s production company, set up to handle his TV income, has just under £1 million in assets — including £400,000 in cash — according to accounts filed this spring. That’s a big leap for a young farmer who once estimated his hourly pay at just 50p while feeding calves at dawn.

Today, Caleb runs multiple businesses, tours the UK with his solo show The World According to Caleb, and has penned two books about life in the fields — all while raising two children (with a third on the way) with fiancée Tea.

Clarkson’s Own Confessions

Despite the cheeky digs, Clarkson himself has been refreshingly honest about the uphill battle of running a farm. Writing in his Sunday Times column, he admitted that while he’s cracked the basics, some parts of farming still baffle him — including, apparently, how to make bread.

“The most difficult thing would be turning my wheat into bread. How on earth did anyone figure that out?” he wrote.

Banters, Bans, and Big Bucks

Season 4 of Clarkson’s Farm has once again proved a record-breaker for Amazon Prime — with a fifth season already in the pipeline. And while the TV banter between Clarkson and Caleb is beloved by millions, Harriet Cowan’s candid commentary suggests the Diddly Squat soap opera is far from running dry.

With cheeky co-stars, singing farmers, and the occasional on-screen row, Clarkson’s countryside empire remains as wildly entertaining — and lucrative — as ever.
