Jeremy Clarkson introduces fans to new addition to Diddly Squat farm – but it instantly backfires

Jeremy Clarkson recently introduced a new addition to his Diddly Squat Farm—a donkey named Ben—via Instagram. While many of his followers welcomed the new family member, some expressed concern, advising that Ben would need a companion as donkeys are social animals and shouldn’t live alone. In response, Jeremy reassured fans, confirming they were aware of the donkey’s needs and that they were taking care of the situation.
This heartwarming moment comes at a time when Clarkson is facing significant challenges with his farm. After a bovine tuberculosis outbreak in late 2025, which led to the heartbreaking culling of his farm’s first-ever pregnant cow, Clarkson’s farming operations have been far from smooth. He also revealed that filming for Clarkson’s Farm has been delayed due to bad weather, which has prevented him from planting crops and attending to his animals. The bad weather and the TB lockdown have made it impossible for Clarkson to make any profit this year, especially from wheat and barley.
Aside from his farming struggles, Clarkson has been vocal on social media, recently clashing with Good Morning Britain’s meteorologist Laura Tobin. After she shared news about the UK’s record wind power generation during the storms in January, Clarkson sarcastically commented, questioning whether freezing weather was the solution to global warming. His followers quickly echoed his skepticism, with many pointing out that the energy savings didn’t translate to lower gas bills for consumers.
Clarkson also found himself in a heated exchange with a Twitter user who blamed Brexit for the struggles faced by British farmers. The debate sparked a broader conversation on social media, with some fans even suggesting that Clarkson should take on a role as agricultural minister, urging the government to support local farming. Despite the challenges, Clarkson continues to use his platform to highlight the issues facing farmers and push for changes in policy.
