Clarkson’s Farm surprise in latest Diddly Squat development

A star from Clarkson’s Farm has teased an exciting new surprise coming to Jeremy Clarkson’s beloved Diddly Squat Farm Shop as part of the latest development at the shop.

Located in the picturesque village of Chadlington, along Chipping Norton Road in the heart of Oxfordshire’s Cotswolds, the shop has garnered a huge following since its opening just before the UK went into lockdown in 2020. Specializing in local produce, the farm shop has become a beloved staple for residents and visitors alike. Over the past few years, thousands of people have flocked to the shop, which has been made even more famous by the hit Amazon Prime TV series Clarkson’s Farm, showcasing the day-to-day adventures of Jeremy Clarkson and his team.

However, in an announcement shared over the weekend, the shop revealed that it would be temporarily closing for renovations. From Monday, March 16 until Tuesday, March 24, the shop will be undergoing a transformation in order to revamp its space. Despite the temporary closure, the team assured customers that the shop would reopen on Wednesday, March 25 with an exciting new look.

Alan Townsend, the show’s resident builder and a familiar face to Clarkson’s Farm viewers, took to Instagram to provide an update on the renovations. In a video filmed at the shop, Townsend shared: “We’ve had a very busy day today, the team. We’re stripping out and revamping the shop. It’ll be ready for Wednesday, 25th.”

In the accompanying post, the farm shop’s Instagram account captioned the update with: “Things are going to look a little different whilst we revamp, but we’re still open. Everything will be back as you know it from the 25th… with a little surprise.”

Jeremy Clarkson’s partner, Lisa Hogan, also provided a glimpse into the ongoing work, stating in another update: “We’ve taken everything out from the shop. It’s all happening here. We’ve basically changed the shop around… It’s exactly the same but very different.”

The announcement has sparked curiosity among fans of the farm and the show, with many wondering what kind of surprise is in store. Could it be a new product line, an upgraded layout, or perhaps a more significant shift in the way the shop operates? Whatever it is, it’s certain to draw even more attention to the already popular location.

In addition to the surprise revamp, Diddly Squat Farm Shop has recently received a prestigious accolade, being named the best farm shop in the Cotswolds at the latest Cotswolds Awards. The award is a notable achievement, given that the Cotswolds region spans five counties and over 800 square miles. This recognition further strengthens Clarkson’s bold claim that Diddly Squat is “the best farm shop in the world.”

The farm shop remains steadfast in its commitment to offering only British food and products, a dedication that has contributed to its ever-growing success. With its loyal customer base and its expanding range of offerings, Diddly Squat continues to thrive and has cemented its place as a key part of the Cotswold’s charm. As the renovation continues, it’s clear that this farm shop is not just a local favorite but a significant landmark in the region.
