Clarkson’s Farm star ‘furious at Jeremy Clarkson’ ahead of new series
A star of Clarkson’s Farm has reportedly been left “furious” with Jeremy Clarkson ahead of the highly anticipated fifth series of the Amazon Prime show. Clarkson, known for his iconic roles on Top Gear and The Grand Tour, has made the transition from motoring to agriculture as he documents his journey managing Diddly Squat Farm, a sprawling 1,000-acre estate in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds.
Clarkson purchased the property, located between Chadlington and Chipping Norton, in 2008, but it wasn’t until 2019 that he fully committed to farming. The show quickly became a fan favorite, turning into Amazon’s most-watched original series, celebrated for its mix of humor, education, and the unpredictable realities of farm life.
Speaking ahead of the new season, Clarkson revealed that Kaleb Cooper, the farm’s manager, had been left “absolutely furious” by one of his latest decisions. In a bid to modernize the farm, Clarkson introduced a new breed of EasyCare sheep, known for their minimal shepherding requirements, self-shedding fleeces, and reduced veterinary needs. “In the first series, I was constantly at the side of the sheep during lambing, terrified there’d be a breech birth or something awful,” Clarkson explained. “EasyCare sheep just get on with it. But Kaleb was furious when I bought them. He spent weeks insisting I’d made the wrong choice. They’re strong, stubborn, and incredibly hard to round up. Yet, the other day, I noticed he had quietly bought 30 for himself.”
Season five promises to be particularly eventful. Clarkson faces a major health scare that forces him to take a step back from day-to-day operations. However, with the farming community actively protesting a controversial government budget, the pressure to maintain the farm’s productivity remains intense. Alongside the introduction of EasyCare sheep, Clarkson implements high-tech upgrades across Diddly Squat, including automated equipment and new farming techniques. In a surprising twist, he even takes Cooper abroad for the first time to see advanced farming methods in action, leaving robot tractors in charge temporarily.
But as fans of the series know, life at Diddly Squat rarely goes according to plan. While initial results from the new breed of sheep and advanced equipment appear promising, unforeseen setbacks, chaotic events, and the unpredictable British weather conspire to make farming an ongoing challenge. Clarkson’s adventurous approach, combined with Cooper’s skepticism and the unpredictable nature of rural life, sets the stage for a season full of surprises, learning, and moments that are as touching as they are humorous.
With the series set to debut on June 3, viewers can expect a mix of heart, humor, and real farming trials, as Clarkson and his team navigate a season where technology meets tradition, and ambition meets the unforgiving realities of rural life.
