Diddly Squat Farm Shop Joins Forces with Ocado to Back the Next Generation of Farmers

Diddly Squat Farm Shop has partnered with Ocado, giving shoppers the chance to support young people starting careers in agriculture while buying produce from the Cotswolds farm.

The team at Diddly Squat Farm Shop, Lisa Hogan, the brains behind the business, and Jeremy Clarkson have a simple ethos: everything they stock has either been grown right there or produced by hard-working local farmers who “really, really care”.

They recently unveiled a fresh new look for their Diddly Squat Farm Shop as part of the ‘For Farms’ Sake’ campaign.

The stars of Clarkson’s Farm opened the shop in 2020. The Diddly Squat Farm Shop’s previous logo featured a tractor, which has now been replaced by a cockerel holding a pitchfork.

The new campaign aims to support British farmers, who produce the nation’s food and are currently facing a number of pressures.

The owners explained: “It’s no cock-and-bull story, we’ve got a fresh look to celebrate the best of British farming with our iconic Diddly Squat cockerel.”

Supporting farming charity

A spokesperson for Ocado, which now has in its offer produce from the shop, said: “If you can’t venture to the Cotswolds to get your hands on the good stuff, you can now shop some of Diddly Squat Farm’s most popular products on the Ocado aisles.

“Whether it’s the legendary Little Turds (chocolate-covered honeycomb, obviously) or the best buttery fudge, we deliver the full experience without the parking queues.”

Shoppers will also find Jeremy’s favourite British Beer Mustard – according to him, “a dollop on a cold sausage from the fridge is as close to heaven as it gets.”

“And, of course, we’ve got their signature hand-cooked crisps in flavours like mushroom & wild garlic, sausage & mustard and cheese & onion, all made with British potatoes – noticing a trend here?

“It’s the most interesting range in British farming, and now you can add it to your weekly shop. What a treat.”

Ocado also confirmed that for every Diddly Squat Farm item shoppers buy, the retailer and the farm shop will both donate 5p (a total of 10p per pack) to The Ernest Cook Trust.

“It’s a charity dedicated to investing back into British farms by supporting young people entering the world of agriculture.

“This initiative is our shared commitment, helping ensure the future of British farming stays bright — even when the weather isn’t,” they explained.

Recently, Prime Video confirmed Clarkson’s Farm will return on Wednesday 3rd June with the first four episodes.
