Clarkson’s Farm Star Kaleb Cooper Takes Cheeky Swipe at Jeremy Clarkson Live on Air
Kaleb Cooper has once again shown that he’s not afraid to poke fun at his famous boss, Jeremy Clarkson — even if it means having to apologise afterwards.
The Clarkson’s Farm favourite appeared live on Heart Radio this week to promote his brand-new children’s book, Kaleb’s Farmyard Tales: Escaping Animals and Runaway Tractors. The book, which draws inspiration from the daily chaos of farm life, is the latest step in Cooper’s rapidly growing career beyond the Amazon Prime series.
During the interview, Kaleb spoke with host Jamie Theakston about his venture into children’s storytelling. But the conversation quickly took a mischievous turn when Jamie pointed out that the “runt of the pig litter” in Kaleb’s book had been given the name “Jeremy.” With a wry smile, Theakston pressed Kaleb on the decision, asking: “Where did you come up with that name?”
Kaleb didn’t hesitate to take a playful jab at his boss. “I don’t know really, I just thought it was a great name,” he replied, before adding with a laugh: “It sums up… you know, every Jeremy is always a little bit of a runt.”
The quip immediately set the studio into laughter, with the presenters momentarily shocked by Kaleb’s cheeky remark. Realising the joke might not land well with every listener, the 27-year-old quickly backtracked, adding an apologetic note: “I’m sure you’re lovely,” he said to Jeremys everywhere.
This isn’t the first time Kaleb has teased Clarkson in public. Fans of Clarkson’s Farm will remember his sharp-tongued critiques on-screen, where he regularly berated Jeremy’s questionable farming skills. At one point, when discussing the relative simplicity of caring for chickens, Kaleb quipped: “Chickens are generally pretty easy — even my friend Jeremy can handle chickens, and he’s the WORST farmer I’ve ever seen.”
Yet for all his teasing, Kaleb has been known to occasionally soften his words with the odd compliment. On another occasion, he acknowledged: “My friend Jeremy is actually quite a good pig farmer. Don’t tell him I said that.” These light-hearted digs — balanced with moments of genuine respect — have become a key part of the duo’s on-screen chemistry, winning over audiences worldwide.

Since his breakout in the first season of Clarkson’s Farm in 2021, Kaleb’s rise has been nothing short of meteoric. What began as a role on a farming documentary has blossomed into a multi-faceted career. Known for his honesty, dry humour, and no-nonsense approach, the Chipping Norton farmhand has become a fan-favourite and now boasts an impressive following of more than three million on Instagram.
With filming for the fifth season of Clarkson’s Farm already underway, Kaleb continues to juggle life as a young father of three, his new career as an author, and his ongoing role as the sharp-witted foil to Jeremy Clarkson. And if this latest radio appearance proves anything, it’s that the playful banter between the two men — equal parts insult and affection — shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
